I’m currently 33 years old, I’ve been online since 1998, and this is my first attempt at a WordPress site. I’m hoping it works well for me.

I have a husband (Michael), a daughter (Emily), and an affection for many things in this world. I like to say I am a “fan of many, a fangirl of few.”

• “The Lord of the Rings” films
• Sam Watters

Adore:

• Michael Jackson. One would assume I’d label myself “fangirl,” as I’ve been a fan all my life. However, after seeing and hearing conversations among MJ fangirls, I’m more comfortable with fan (or “MJfam” – as in part of a family with other fans).
• Color Me Badd. – I used to be a fangirl, but getting to know them chilled me out a bit. It’s hard to go fangirl on people you consider family. Ha ha. Also, Sam Watters, the member I’m “fangirly” over, left the group.
• Woody Allen films. This was a guilty pleasure in my younger days, but I’ve come to own it.
• The show “Friends.” I will pretty much watch a Friends episode anytime. Actually, I’d say I’m borderline fangirl on this one.

Something that bothers me about fandom is people who are what I like to call “music snobs.” What I mean by that is people who think only what they listen to is of any value. My favorite group is Color Me Badd and yours is Black Sabbath… the fact that we know nothing about each other’s favorite group doesn’t mean either of them are any less talented or worthy of fandom.

There are also snobs in other areas, like movies, books, food, college majors, etc.; however, music bothers me the most because it means the most to me.
